She has delivered speeches at the TEDxWomen festival as well as United Nations Broadband Working Group to Gender. Feminist Frequency was launched in 2009 by Sarkeesian, a University student who has been involved in topics related to gender and feminism for quite a long period of. In 2009, the ebullient young woman was targeted online for launching a website featuring a series about gender and videogames. This attack was not enough to deter her. Instead, it increased her importance to be a feminist as well as media critique. As a result of the many achievements she's made for feminist movements, she has been the recipient of numerous awards.
