Rebecca King-CrewThomas William Selleck is an American actor. His most well-known role was Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in the television series Magnum, P.I. The actor was nominated five times for Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Lead Actor In the Drama Series (1980-1988) and was awarded the Emmy Award in 1985. From 2010 until 2010, Selleck has been the New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. In nine television series inspired by the Robert B. Parker novels Selleck played Jesse Stone, a troubled small-town chief of police, which began in 2005. Selleck also played the role as Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect in Three Men and a Baby (1987) as well as Three Men and A Little Lady(1990). Also, he's appeared in more than 50 other films and TV parts from the time of Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball and Lassiter. He was a frequent television actor, playing Monica Geller's lover, Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the charming and innocent partner, on The Rockford Files; and A.J., casino owner.
